Mundo architecture was established in London in 1997.
Jonathan and Agnieszka Pearson decided to move their practice to rural mid
Wales in the Brecon Beacons in April 2001.
The practice is versatile and works in a wide range of different sectors including restaurant interiors, hotel and leisure facilities and also landscape design. Arguably they predominantly focus on residential properties. The majority of their projects are located in Wales with a number of other projects in London, Ireland, Poland and Belize.
Sustainability has proved to be an integral part of their agenda throughout
their careers. This is due to the insight and experience gained whilst working in Belize, Central America in the mid -1990s, finding the balance between nature and humanity. This has been strengthened by working closely with ecology and conservation departments on projects in rural Wales.
The ethos and interests of the practice:
- Creating a flow through spaces
- Bathing internal spaces in natural light
- Connecting interiors to the external environment
- Designing healthy buildings
Mundo Architecture took the decision 4 years ago to move their office base
from the countryside into the town of Brecon. They are currently renovating a Brecon townhouse for their office.
Mundo is a RIBA Chartered Practice and a member of the Association of Environmental Conscious Building (AECB).
